SAFETY
INITIATIVES

“JUST DAIICHI TANKER GROUP CULTURE”

As Daiichi Tanker Group, we have established the following motto:

There are no barriers in terms of sea and land, positions, ranks, gender, or age. All individual members, including the President, prioritize safety as a matter of course and constantly strive to improve and enhance safety through the SMS (Safety Management System), which serves as our company’s Bible. They seek ways for further growth in this aspect.

All members are not passive bystanders waiting for instructions. They actively think for themselves, take responsibility for actions that improve safety based on their own initiative, and uphold a culture of accountability.

Each member deepens communication and collaboration, not being passive, but actively and continuously working towards fostering a “better” safety culture JDC (Just DTK Culture) within the Daiichi Tanker Group.

Safety Organization

Our company establishes the “Safety Management Committee” with the safety management officer as the chairman. The committee formulates key safety measures for maritime safety and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and conducts reviews to improve and maintain safety management. The existence of the Safety Management Committee enhances our safety awareness and contributes to the improvement of vessel safety. Through the committee’s activities, we strive to instill the importance of safety management in all employees and ensure the execution of tasks in a safe environment. Going forward, the Safety Management Committee will continue to play an active role and work towards improving and maintaining the safety management system.

Emergency Response

In the event of an emergency on our operating vessels, the President and CEO of our company assumes the role of the Head of the Emergency Response Headquarters to ensure a swift response that minimizes the impact on crew members, vessels, cargo, and the marine environment.
Within this Emergency Response Headquarters, we gather and assess necessary information during emergencies and make informed decisions and instructions to manage the situation. As part of our emergency response efforts, we also conduct regular emergency drills. These drills aim to enhance the response capabilities of crew members and stakeholders by simulating realistic scenarios and engaging in role-playing exercises. Through these drills, we strive to ensure prompt and accurate actions in the event of an emergency.
