MESSAGE From the past to the present, and into the future. Balancing tradition and innovation

Daiichi Tanker Co.,Ltd. was established in 1961, as one of the subsidiary of Mitsui Co., Ltd. In the field of special tanker maritime transportation, we have a significant market share and maintain stable performance. Since our founding, we have been responsible for transporting goods primarily within Japan, as well as to major ports in Asia such as Korea, Taiwan, China, and India.

One of our main transported cargo is “Ethylene,” which is considered the most crucial raw material in the chemical industry and often referred to as the “rice of the petrochemical industry.” It is a fundamental ingredient in our daily lives, used in familiar items such as PET bottles, food packaging, clothing, automotive parts, and electrical components. Through the stable and safe transportation of ethylene, we contribute significantly to the chemical industry in Japan and Asia, as well as to our daily lives.

The average age of our on-site staff is young, creating a well-balanced workforce from experienced professionals to younger talents. We place a strong emphasis on providing technical support to newly hired seafarers and offer comprehensive on-site education. They learn essential knowledge to handle any situation and gain valuable experience on the job, growing into top-notch maritime staff. Furthermore, we also focus on support from onshore and promote maritime-land exchange programs that provide opportunities for our seafarers to apply their developed seamanship skills onshore. We have created a working environment that is conducive to our maritime staff.

To fully embody our group’s commitment to safety as our top priority, we uphold the corporate slogan “Just Daiichi Tanker Group Culture (JDC)” and strive for safe operations in unity between our seafarers and onshore staff.

In the rapidly changing landscape of the Japanese chemical industry, we aim to be a “selected” company that responds to the new industry while ensuring world-class talent education and a conducive workplace environment. We will continue to preserve tradition while actively pursuing the creation of new added value.
